COVID POLICIES​​

• You must wear a mask if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID19 or have recently been exposed per Public Health Guidelines 

Being Prepared for your appointment

• Please arrive to your appointment at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time. This allows us to check you in prior to your visit. This also allows nursing staff to gather required information before your visit

• Please utilize the check-in kiosk 

• Always bring your health card with you 

Virtual Appointments

• You MUST be in Ontario at the time of your appointment (even if the appointment is via phone or video).

• Medical advice cannot be given if you are outside of Canada: please seek care with a local medical professional if needed 

• Please treat virtual appointments as you would an in person appointment

  • Please ensure your health card is not expired and we have the most up-to-date version on file​

  • Please answer your phone/video on time

    • ​Please be prepared to answer the phone up to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time​​

    • Please log on to the virtual video visit at least 10 minutes prior to your schedules time 

• The same policies apply to in person and virtual appointments: see below​​​

• We use Telus Virtual Visits for video appointments

  • You will get an email from Telus with a link to access this video appointment 48 hours prior to the appointment, unless you booked within 48 hours and then it will be sent immediately ​

  • You do not need to make an account to use this video visit system ​​

• If you need a physical exam for your appointment, the appointment MUST be in person (blood pressure check, painful joints/back/head, any trauma, rashes/moles, among others)​. If in doubt, it is best to book an in person appointment. All new issues must be seen in person.​

Late/Missed Appointments

• In order for our physicians to stay on schedule (so you are not sitting in the waiting room for hours), you must be on time for your appointment. 

• If you miss your appointment, whether it be a phone call or in-person appointment, there is a $40 fee ($60 for Annual Health Exams or longer appointment types) 

• If you miss multiple appointments, you may be dismissed from the practice

• If you are late for your appointment, it may count as a missed appointment and you may not be seen

Unacceptable Behaviour

• We have a strict zero tolerance policy for any sort of abuse or aggressive behaviour towards physicians, or any staff/colleagues. 

• This includes swearing, rude behaviour, yelling, threats, any physical altercations, bullying, damage to property, among others

• If any of the above behaviour occurs, it would result in immediate dismissal from the practice

Same-day Appointments

• Same day appointments are available for urgent needs

• If you require a same day/next day appointment, please book this by calling in to the office 

• These appointments must all be pre-approved by your physician

  • Please call beforehand to see if you require a same-day appointment, walk-ins are not accepted  

• These appointments are not for annual health exams, chronic medical issues, or prescription renewals 

• If you are able to book your appointment ahead of time, please do so 

Prescription Renewals​

• If you require a prescription renewal, please ensure that there are not any repeats/refills on the prescription left 

• You have the following options:

  1. Book a follow-up appointment to discuss your prescription renewal ​​

  2. Do not have an appointment but instead have your pharmacy fax a renewal request to our office. Please note that this service is not covered by OHIP and is associated with a $20 fee unless you are covered by a block fee. This service is not available for controlled medications. 

Ocean Messaging​

• Through this, we are able to securely send emails and forms. Please note that we do not send messages/forms/e-mails outside of this secure system
